Confidential: Click and Boat’s Airbnb raises €500,000

The start-up founded in 2013 plans to raise an additional €1.5 million in 2016 to expand its offering in Europe, including Turkey, Greece and Croatia.

Nearly a year and a half after its first round of funding of €200,000, the Click and Boat platform has completed a €500,000 round of funding from its historical investors, business angels. The start-up, which allows individuals to rent out their boats, plans to raise a further €1.5 million in 2016 by bringing in investment funds to its capital.

This first closing with privateinvestors will in any case allow Click and Boat to recruit a developer and a traffic manager and to invest in communication and marketing, in particular to recruit renters in new countries, in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The start-up will also build up an offer in new European countries. “Competitors are present in all these countries, but they are still behind us,” explains Edouard Gorioux, co-founder. We therefore want to consolidate our position quickly through acquisitions or by setting up local teams. Greece, Croatia and Turkey are in our sights.

2 million euros in business volume in 2015

Launched in December 2013, Click and boat offers more than 2,000 boats for hire in 200 ports, mostly in France. However, 350 boats are located abroad, notably in Spain, Italy, Croatia and Greece. The start-up founded by Edouard Gorioux and Jeremy Bismuth employs seven people and plans to double its workforce in 2016.

Click and boat, which takes a 13.5% commission on each transaction and also offers daily insurance to boat owners, is aiming for more than two million euros in business volume in 2015 and hopes to multiply this volume by five to ten in 2016.

Concierge service in 2016

In 2016, Click and boat will launch a concierge service to allow boat owners to entrust their keys to a trusted person on site so they can rent even when they are far away.

The young start-up also wants to diversify its activities. In a few months, we will launch a platform dedicated to yachting, the luxury rental,” announces Edouard Gorioux. We realized that there was a need in this niche and that marketing is very specific to it.”
