Newmanity raises €635,000 for its sustainable development portal

Created by the founder of Max Havelaar, Newmanity is a social network that multiplies services encouraging sustainable development.

The social network Newmanity (a contraction of the words “new” and “humanity”), which is dedicated to sustainable development, has announced that it has raised 635,000 euros from its historical shareholders. Founded by the creator of Max Havelaar, Victor Ferreira, the service opened in December 2012 in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg. In addition to the social network that encourages citizens and industry players to share their commitments and projects, the portal offers a range of practical content (advice sheets, job offers, training, quizzes, etc.).

Newmanity also has a geolocation service that allows users to locate events, organizations or individuals in their area in order to lend them a hand. Projects currently under development include a marketplace for holidays and physical goods, a coaching program and a personalized news service.
