Canonical unveils a first beta version of its Linux distribution for smartphones and tablets. An SDK is also available.
After a Touch Developer Preview, it is around a beta version of the Ubuntu distribution for smartphones and tablets to be offered to developers by Canonical.
For now, the OS is available for four models of terminals: Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and Galaxy Nexus. But the goal of the publisher is to extend its support to all Android devices, tablets or smartphones. For the occasion, Canonical has published an installation guide on its site.
Ubuntu Touch Beta comes with an SDK designed to develop and deploy an application from Qt Creator. It comes with a graphical toolkit (UI Toolkit) with a library of components.
